Yay! We did it! We made it through our first day of school and it was a success!
It was so fun working at the same school together for once. We met for coffee in the morning (um, HELLO Pumpkin Spice Latte and Salted Caramel Mocha season) and then headed up to school together.
Today was a pretty easy “Get to know you” kind of day with games, school rules/expectations and an assembly. And with some day camp experience under our belts we were ready for the games…
You know they say great minds think alike? Well we definitely do! We brought the same activity without even discussing it.

Even though it’s not my class (just subbing today), I just loved getting to know this group of kids today. A couple of the kids were from my volleyball team last year so it was really nice to have some familiar faces. We played a summer vacation scrabble game (they had to add a word that described their summer vacation and tell us why) and a couple different name game activities. I am so happy to be back in the classroom that I’ve been talking non-stop about my day ever since. Can’t wait to see what adventures tomorrow will bring!

Whoosh – what a day! It was great to be back at school and even though I’m only in this class for three weeks (unless I am the successful applicant for the job) it was great seeing some familiar faces again. I am tired tonight…my husband asked me if I’m going to make it until it gets dark and I’m not actually sure if I will. Tomorrow will be our first full day! I have a bunch of activities and games prepared…I hope those grade 7s are ready for a fun day!
